Obituary of Sonja M. Carlson

Sonja (Stenquist) Carlson, 85, of Salem, NH, formerly of Woburn, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Wednesday, May 31. She was the wife of the late Norman A. Carlson. Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. Stenquist, Sr., and the late Karin D. (Florin) Stenquist. Sonja worked as a bookkeeper at the former Woburn National Bank in Woburn Center before retiring in 1999. In addition to her husband Norman, Sonja was also predeceased by one daughter, the late Lori Carlson, and one son, the late Kurt Carlson. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Clements and her husband Ed; and one son, Scott Carlson and his wife Merri, all of Salem, NH. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Eddie Clements, Jr., Kim Clements, Mark Clements, Kristina Carlson, Jared Carlson, Bill Johnstone, Nick Johnstone; and eight great-grandchildren, Liana, Cody, John, Courtney, Thomas, Claire, Jackson, and Riley. She is further survived by one brother, Henry Stenquist, Jr. of Hooksett, NH; and she was predeceased by one sister, the late Jean Moore. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday evening, June 9 from 4:00-7:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
