Obituary of Daniel J Fowle
Daniel J. Fowle, of Malden, formerly of Woburn, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness on Monday, December 23. He was 66 years of age.
Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Alfred C. “Bud” Fowle, and the late Barbara F. (Davis) Fowle. “Dan” as he was known to his friends and family, was a graduate of St. Charles School, and Woburn High School, Class of 1972; and he attended Bunker Hill Community College.
Soon after graduation, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as an Electrician’s Mate aboard the USS Sierra, earning his Honorable Discharge in 1977. Dan continued to serve in the Navy Reserve until 1979.
Dan was a member of the Boy Scouts, Explorers, and ROTC and enjoyed photography, cars, boating and tinkering with electronics.
Dan was compassionate and very loving to his family and friends, always keeping in touch, regardless of his failing health. Despite his declining health in later years, Dan continued to help people and serve as a strong advocate for those in need.
Dan is survived by his five brothers and sisters, Thomas Fowle of Londonderry, NH, Maryanne Gorman and her husband William of Tewksbury, John Fowle and his wife Gail of Tewksbury, Greg Fowle of Woburn, and Nancy (Fowle) Kinney of Woburn. He is also survived by his dear friend Chantal Alexandre of Lynn; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Sunday, January 5 from 2:00-5:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 pm. Burial will be private.
