Obituary of Rosalie J Greene
Rosalie J. (McInnis) Greene, 99, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 18. She was the wife of the late Charles F. “Chuck” Greene who died in 1987.
Born and raised in Somerville, Rosalie was one of 11 children of the late Allan, and the late Julia McInnis. Rosalie worked as a hostess for many years at her family’s diner, the former Greene’s Diner and Catering on Main Street in Woburn’s South End.
After retiring, Rosalie and Chuck moved to Stuart, Florida where she remained until coming back to Massachusetts in 2019.
Rosalie is survived by one daughter and three sons, Chuck Greene, Jr. and his wife Linda of Lady Lake, Florida, Paul Greene and his wife Lynne of Woburn, Terri Venezia and her husband Bob of Billerica, and Rick Greene and his wife Denise of Woburn. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn on Tuesday, February 25 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Florida at a later date. As Rosalie’s late husband Chuck is being inducted into the Woburn Community Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame, Class of 2020, the family would appreciate contributions in Rosalie’s memory to the WCEF, P.O.
