Obituary of Charles Everett Myers

Charles Everett "Bud" Myers, of Woburn, passed away on February 28, 2020 at the age of 90, after a brief illness. His wife, June Violet (Borglin) Myers passed away in February, 2014 at the age of 84. They were married for 59 years. Bud was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He served during the Korean war as a Naval Air Photographer. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for Haloid Corporation in New York. When Haloid was bought by a little company nobody ever heard of called Xerox, he was laid off and he returned to Massachusetts. During the 1960's Bud pursued a career in optics at the Itek Corporation, building training devices for the Apollo astronauts. During this time, he attended MIT. He later was employed at Chomerics as a testing engineer, retiring in 1996. Bud was a 50-year member of the Massachusetts Masons. He remained very active in the fraternity, rising to the rank of District Deputy Grand Master. Bud as also a member of Scottish Rite Freemasonry, and he was a proud descendant of Clan McBean. During the 70's and 80's Bud sang with the Mishawum Choral Society. He also sang with the Sounds of Concord, a Barbershop Harmony chorus, singing several times in national competitions. Bud enjoyed traveling with June, making trips to California, Florida, Alaska, Canada, England, Scotland, and Denmark. After totaling their camper in Nova Scotia, they discontinued globetrotting, but still attended the Highland games in Maine with their friends George and Barbara Wiseman. Bud was a faithful member of the North Congregational Church in Woburn, and has many lifelong friends there. Bud is survived by his daughter Jacalyn Browne and her husband James; his son Gary Myers and his wife Jan; his grandson Gregory Browne and his partner Erin, and their daughter Eva; and his grandson Andrew Browne. He is also survived by his sister Roberta Watson. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday, March 6 from 4-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at the North Congregational Church, 896 Main St., Woburn on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 am.
