Obituary of Dorothy Douvris Williams
Dorothy Douvris Williams, 89, of Arlington, formerly of Woburn, passed away on Friday evening, May 15. She was the wife of the late Paul Williams who died in 1995.
Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Vasili, and the late Stavoula Douvris. Dorothy was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1948.
After graduation from Woburn High School, Dorothy embarked on a professional career. She retired in 1973 from Raytheon, where she was a blueprint supervisor, to marry her husband Paul Williams and raise her daughter, Maureen.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Philoptochos and the Annunciation Church Choir.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Maureen Williams of Arlington. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, Great-great nieces and nephews, and even one great-great-great grandniece.
In addition to her husband Paul, Dorothy was preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters and their spouses, Peter Douvris and his wife Juanita, Elizabeth Harrison and her husband Alexander, Julia Rodakis and her husband Ernest, Georgia “Jean” George and her husband John, and Charles Douvris.
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, Dorothy’s services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Greek Orthodox Community in Woburn, Inc. 2020 Vision Mortgage Campaign, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA 01801.
