Obituary of Hellen V Jonsson

Hellen V. (Franson) Jonsson - Born in Woburn on September 21, 1923 to Emma and Sune Franson, Hellen V. Jonsson passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020. Her caring and warm nature was evidenced in everything she said and did. Never an unkind word spoken, Hellen found something worth loving in everyone. Raised on Madison Street along with her six siblings, Hellen attended Woburn public schools where she was voted ‘best dressed,’ leading to a brief career as a window decorator at Filene’s in Winchester. She happily became a fulltime homemaker when she married Nils G Jonsson, her late husband of 71 years. Hellen leaves behind her four children Linda Ohlmeyer, Lisa Desmond, Lance Jonsson and wife Maryann, Christopher Jonsson and wife Wendy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Desmond and wife Cristina, Tyler Desmond and wife Bethany, Casey & Lily Jonsson, Kerri Masotta-Doubleday and husband Jim, Kelly Berard and husband Eric, Christy Marchionda and husband Craig and Nicholas Jonsson and partner Evan Dublin. She is further survived by her great grandchildren, Josh & Connor Desmond, Hailey Desmond, Alan, Max and Luke Doubleday, Talon Masotta, McKenna, Keston and Greyson Berard, Kemper and Riley Marchionda; and her many nieces and nephews, who were loved by Hellen deeply. Hellen was predeceased by her sister Greta and husband Carl Hellmer, her brother Al Franson and wife Janice, her sister Ruth and husband Paul Haggerty Sr., her sister Ethel and husband Robert Stokes, and her brother Bertil Franson. Hellen is survived by her sister Anna Mae, her husband Royce Crimmin and Bertil’s wife Jessie. Hellen was raised and raised her children with unconditional love, unwavering support and total devotion. Hellen and her late husband Nils will be buried together at a family graveside memorial at the Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem St., Woburn on Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 am. Per current Covid-19 restrictions, we kindly ask that that everyone in attendance wear a face covering, and observe social distancing guidelines during all services.
