Obituary of Robert J. Fitzsimmons
Robert J. Fitzsimmons, of Woburn, passed away on Thursday evening, January 11, 2024 He was 82 years of age.
Born in Brookline and raised in Woburn, Robert was the son of the late Robert W. Fitzsimmons, and the late Margaret S. (Deane) Fitzsimmons Hureau. Bob was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1959. He then went on to attend Burdette College.
Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an Army Medic. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1969, Bob moved to Santa Monica, California. He was the longtime manager of Alice’s Restaurant on Santa Monica Pier. Following his retirement, Bob came back to Woburn in 2005 to be with his family. He was an avid reader and history buff.
Robert is survived by his two sisters, Carol Miner and her husband Bill; and Peggy Ficociello; all of Woburn. Bob was the uncle of Elizabeth Humphrey of Woburn, and the late Amy Long.
Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday, January 19 from 10:00-11:00 am; followed by graveside services with Military Honors at the Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem St., Woburn.
