Obituary of Elizabeth M. Knight

Elizabeth M. (Deroo) Knight, of Woburn, formerly of Stoneham and Winchester, passed away on Monday evening, November 6. She was 97 years of age. Born in Winthrop and raised in Winchester, she was the daughter of the late George F., and the late Madora E. (Clarke) Deroo; and she was the wife of the late Clarence E. Knight who passed away in 1979. Elizabeth was a graduate of Winchester Schools. She worked in the Town of Winchester Tax Collector’s Office, and then as a school secretary at Winchester High School. Later, she went to work for Mitre Corporation, retiring in 1991. She had been a longtime resident of Stoneham, prior to moving to New Horizons at Choate in Woburn three years ago. Although retired, Elizabeth kept busy volunteering at the Jenks Senior Center, and the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester for over 25 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Aletheon Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Woburn-Winchester. She also enjoyed quilting, and spending time with her family. Elizabeth was the wife of the late Clarence E. Knight. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Reppucci and her companion Charles Mastromauro of Medford, Judy Massakowski and her husband Joe of Peabody; and she was predeceased by one daughter, the late Barbara Meadows. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Joseph Meadows of Williamsburg, VA; and was predeceased by her son-in-law, the late Edward Reppucci. She is further survived by five grandchildren, Michelle Imbornone and her husband Joseph, Richard Reppucci and his wife Shane, Sandra Meadows, Jennifer Meadows, and Michael Meadows and his wife Erin; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Joseph, and Joshua Imbornone, Drew and Reid Reppucci, and Emery Meadows; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, the late Charles, and the late Robert Deroo. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Sunday afternoon, November 12 from 1:00-4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 13 at 10:00 am, followed by burial at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
