Obituary of Gary J. Finlayson

Gary J. Finlayson of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 18. He was 71 years of age. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late John A. Finlayson, Jr., and the late Doris (Tutin) Finlayson. Gary attended Medford Schools, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971. He served as a Military Police Officer and was stationed in Korea, and also at several Air Force Bases in the United States. He served two enlistments, and was Honorably Discharged in 1978. Gary worked as a Maintenance Engineer for Marriott Hotels throughout the area. He retired as a Chief Engineer in 2017 after 31 years of service. Gary is survived by his wife, June (Knights) Finlayson; two daughters, Jaime Moriconi of Lowell, and Jennifer Osborne-Abril of California; and two step-children, Erik Hesse of Stoneham, and Laurie Stokes and her husband Geoffrey of North Reading. Gary is also survived by his sister, Sharon Finlayson of Lowell, his brother Kenneth Finlayson and his wife Dorothy of Woburn, and his sister Linda Vienneau and her husband Keith of Burlington; two grandchildren, Derek and Kinsey; and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
