Obituary of Antonette F. Tartaglia
Antonette Tartaglia, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, July 25. She was 96 years of age.
Born and raised in Somerville, she was one of ten children of the late Cosmo, and the late Maria Tartaglia. “Ann” or “Annie” as she was known by family and friends worked as a meat packer for Triple M Meats prior to her retirement.
Ann was a devoted and loving aunt, and she was very close to her brothers and sisters. She was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed playing the lottery and Bingo. And she also loved to indulge in banana splits! Even though she never drove, Ann enjoyed traveling with her family.
Antonette is survived by one sister, Lucy Fazio of Somerville; and many nieces and nephews, including Sheila Flaherty and Darlene Griffin, both of Burlington. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by three sisters, the late Dora Ascolillo, the late Rose Puglia, and her sister and best friend, the late Eleanor Griffin; and five brothers, the late Cosmo, the late Gabriel, the late Michael, the late Teddy, and the late Joseph Tartaglia.
Graveside services will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway in Malden on Friday, August 4 at 11:00 am. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
