Obituary of Dorothy R. Pike

Dorothy (Ripley) Pike, 90, of Woburn formerly of Belmont and Lexington, passed away on Sunday evening, June 4. She was the wife of the late George B. Pike. Born and raised in Belmont, she was the daughter of late Raymond and Gertrude Ripley. The youngest of 6 children, along with her twin brother, David. She is predeceased by her twin, sisters Phyllis Taylor and Ruth Daniels, and her brother, Raymond Jr. She is also predeceased by her son in law, Richard O’Keefe. She is survived by her brother Phillip of Nashua; sisters in law, Carolyn Andrews of Woburn and Ruth Jackson of Wells, Maine. She is also survived by her four children: Betsy O’Keefe and Sheryl Pike of York, Maine, David Pike and his wife Sharon (Peterson) of Londonderry, NH, Alan Pike and his wife Marcy (Vaich) of Lake Sunapee, NH and Punta Gorda, FL; her grandchildren: R. Joel O’Keefe and his wife Rachel, Jeffrey Pike and his wife, Catherine, Melissa O’Keefe, Justin Pike and his wife, Heather, Mark Pike and his wife, Jennifer, James Pike and Raymond Pike. Dorothy is further survived by her great grandchildren: Benjamin Walden and his wife Olivia, Justin Pike, James Pike, Gavin O’Keefe, Delia O’Keefe, Elyse Pike, Hadley Pike and Harper Pike. Dorothy was also loved and admired by her many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Dot worked part time for McSheffrey Auto for many years. And she also worked alongside her late husband George, who owned and ran Pike Executive Transportation with his son, Alan, and grandson, Mark, in Woburn for several years. A homemaker and mother were her first priorities. She loved to entertain friends and family. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was loved by each and every one of them. Affectionately known as “Hunka” to her husband George, “Meggie” to family and close friends, “Dorrie” to her brothers and sisters and parents, and “Dot” to her many friends. Memorial services for Dorothy will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
