Obituary of Paul H. Denton
Paul H. Denton of North Andover passed away at High Point Hospice in Haverhill on February 6, 2023 at age 80.
Born in Boston, he was the son of Florence and Paul Wood. Paul was pre-deceased by Paul H. Denton, Sr., who was killed in action during World War II in 1944.
Paul served in the Navy and was stationed in Naval Air Station South Weymouth, where he worked in the fire service. He was self-employed for many years as an electrician in the Merrimack Valley and surrounding area.
Paul’s hobbies included riding his Triumph motorcycle (in his younger days) and driving his antique Mack truck. His neighbors remember that truck! Every year he spent the weekend at the Barrington New Hampshire Truck Show with his wife. Paul loved his children and was always involved with their activities, attending games and Scouting events.
Paul was also pre-deceased by his brother, Ronald Wood, and grand-daughter Kaleigh Markette. He survived by his wife, Joan (Preble) Denton, his daughter Lyn Markette and her husband Carmen of North Oxford; Michael Denton and his wife Brenda of Billerica; brother-in-laws James Preble and his wife Martha, and John Preble and his wife Michal of Sarasota, Florida; a nephew and several nieces; and grand nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be private. Arrangements are through the Arthur P. Graham Funeral Home in Woburn. Paul will be interred at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
