Obituary of William A. Mochi
William A. Mochi, 90, of Dennis, formerly of Woburn, passed away at his home on Thursday morning, December 1. He was the husband of the late Bernadette (Ciullo) Mochi who died in 1998.
Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Julius, and the late Mary (Ferola) Mochi. “Bill” as he was known to family and friends, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and proudly served during the Korean War. He earned his Honorable Discharge in 1955.
Prior to his retirement, Bill worked as an accounts payable manager for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Bill and his late wife were married in 1970, and soon after made their home on Woburn’s West Side where he lived until moving to Dennis recently.
Bill had been active in Woburn Youth Hockey, and he had served as a Board Member and Past President. He was also a member of the National Association of Destroyer Veterans “Tin Can Sailors.”
In addition to his parents and his late wife Bernadette, Bill was preceded in death by his son, the late William M. Mochi who passed away in 2020. Bill is survived by one sister, Rosemary Tucker; and he was predeceased by one brother, the late Robert Mochi, and two sisters, the late Elaine Harrigan, and the late Beatrice Uminski. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews around the country.
Visiting hours will be at the Arthur P. Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Monday, December 12 from 4:00-7:00 pm. The funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13 at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10:00 am.
