FOR GREAT GRAMPY LARSEN: THE PATRIARCH WHO LEAD ME TO ONE OF MY NAMES Final farewells are never enough so we have memory When memory is not enough we have sleep And when sleep won’t do we have conversation And when conversation cannot bring time back well, then there is music to paint time in a more favorable light See there is always an alternative to darkness Yet darkness isn’t as it seems. It’s not the lack of anything but the peaceful fulfillment, Of everything all at once saying, “hi”. Before you get a chance to say, “goodbye”
