Obituary of Joseph J. Bellofatto
Joseph J. Bellofatto, 88, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away after a short illness on Thursday morning, August 4. He was the husband of Joanne (Bonavita) Bellofatto.
Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph, and the late Angela (Soriano) Bellofatto. Joseph grew up in Boston’s North End, and he was a graduate of Boston College. He served in the United States Army from October 1956 until earning his Honorable Discharge in October 1958.
Prior to his retirement, Joseph worked as a Sales Manager for consumer products companies. Joseph most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending his grandchildren’s events and cooking for anyone and everyone, especially Friday night pizza. Joseph was a lifelong fan and season ticket holder for the Boston College Eagles football team. With a love for baseball, he was a loyal fan of what he always called the Boston Braves even after their final move to Atlanta. Joseph loved to travel with his wife, Joanne, his family and friends to any destination but none more than Cape Cod where a long day on the beach was his favorite day.
In addition to his wife Joanne, Joseph is survived by his daughter, Lori Hock of Braintree; his son, Joseph Bellofatto and his wife Flora of Westboro; and his daughter, Lia Juneau and her husband Brian of Wakefield. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joseph and Kevin Hock, Giavanna, Joseph, and Nicholas Bellofatto, and Olivia and Matthew Juneau; one sister, Louise Lochiatto of Revere; and brother-in-law, Joseph Bonavita and his wife, Ann Bonavita.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family during visiting hours at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Tuesday evening, August 9 from 4:00-8:00 pm. The services will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 10 at 8:45 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 10:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
