Obituary of Marguerite Healy Rebal
Marguerite (Buckman) Healy Rebal, 94, of Woburn passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Known affectionately as “Bucky” to her friends, she was the daughter of the late W. Everett Buckman and Beatrice Wells Buckman of Woburn.
As an 11th generation Woburnite, she was born, raised and lived her entire life in Woburn Highlands. She was a direct descendant (8th great-granddaughter) of Capt. Edward F. Johnson, the founder of Woburn and the First Congregational Church of Woburn, of which she was a member.
Marguerite was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1943. During her high school years and following graduation, she worked at the former Woolworth store on Main St. in Woburn Square for six years.
As a divorcée raising five children, she returned to school studying at Northeastern University and the Stenotype Institute in Boston. She then worked as an executive secretary at Computervision / Prime Computer in Bedford for 12 years, retiring in 1991. During her retirement years she worked part-time at the Lord & Taylor store at the Burlington Mall for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers Willis E. Buckman, Jr., Master Sergeant Howard F. Buckman, who was killed in North Africa during World War II, and David Buckman, who died as an infant.
She is survived by her five children, Leo B. Healy, Jr. and his wife Sandy of New Oxford, PA; Victoria Healy Fitzgerald, widow of the late Somerville Firefighter David C. Fitzgerald, of Tewksbury; Judith Healy Flynn and her husband William Flynn of Fort Collins, CO; Thomas Rebal, Jr. of Sandown, NH; and Christopher Rebal of Woburn. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
Marguerite’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Woburn Nursing Center for caring for her during her final years.
Visitation will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Road (corner of Pleasant St.), Woburn, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Graham Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Buckman family plot on Flagg Ave. in Woodbrook Cemetery on Salem St in Woburn.
