Obituary of James J. Maguire
James J. Maguire, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully on November 25 at the age of 76. He was the beloved son of the late William C. Maguire, and the late Mary A. (Flaherty) Maguire.
Mr. Maguire was a graduate of St. Charles School, Christopher Columbus High School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lowell State College in 1967. He enjoyed reading, playing and teaching piano, and being the organist at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Woburn for many years.
Prior to his retirement, Jim was a music teacher at Winchendon and Woburn Public Schools. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who served in Germany.
Jim was the beloved brother of William Maguire and his wife Mary Anne Maguire of Woburn, Anne O’Connell of Falmouth, Mary Maguire of Beverly, and the late Leo Maguire. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews, two great-great nieces; his sister-in-law, cousins, and many friends.
Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Wednesday morning, December 1 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Winchester. Please, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
