Obituary of Robert J. Spicer
Robert J. Spicer, 80, of Dracut, formerly of Woburn, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Friday evening, November 12. He was the loving husband of 50 years of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Power) Spicer.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Arthur, and the late Gertrude (McLean) Spicer. Robert had been a longtime resident of Woburn, prior to coming to Dracut 20 years ago. He was employed as a truck driver for the Xpedx Corporation prior to his retirement in 2006.
Bob was a genuinely happy person, always smiling and good for a laugh. He was the kind of person most of us wish we could be - he lit up the room he walked into, always made people feel welcome and cared for, and had a smile people remember fondly. His love for his family was deep and came second only to his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Robert is survived by three sons, Arthur Spicer and his wife Suzanne of Woburn, Gerald Spicer and his wife Tambria of Branson, MO, and Bryan Spicer and his wife Sandy of Dracut. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Kelsey, Jonathan, Devonne and her husband Steven, Lucas and his wife Maryssa, Patrick, and Jillian as as well as 3 great grand-daughters. Bob is survived by 2 brothers, Stanley of California and Lenny, and his wife Lynn, of Methuen.
